C.A.N.C.E.R. my C-Adventure
I had been teaching Qigong and T’ai Chi at the Huntsman Cancer Institute for three years. I had embraced so many of my students, been inspired by their stories, guided them through movements and breathwork that buoyed them up through their treatment. But then I received my own diagnosis in January 2017. Breast cancer.
As the initial panic tore through my heart and mind, knowing
quickly gave way to experiencing.
I call it my C-Adventure because I went through the C-sea of emotions with chemo and radiation. I began to C-see more clearly what I truly desired in my life and what I didn’t.
I continued to teach my Qigong and T’ai Chi classes at HCI while going through chemo and radiation. Moving my Chi grounded me, and now the Universe had given me an opportunity to truly live what I teach.
I’ve been changed by my C-Adventure—and so has everyone around me. So rather than seeing it as a scary word, a terrifying disease, I see it as an acronym for expansion, love and inspiration:
C.A.N.C.E.R. = Change Agent…Natural Compassion and Empathy Rises
Qigong and T’ai Chi Continue to Teach Me
